OpenID continues to grow
The OpenID Foundation
has announced that Microsoft, Google, IBM, VeriSign and Yahoo! have
accepted OpenID, the authentication framework created by Brad
Fitzpatrick during his tenure at Six Apart, for purposes of security
and practicality. Free to use and completely open source, OpenID is
currently promoted and supported by the OpenID Foundation (OIDF),
vice-chaired by none other than our very own David Recordon. As a major contributor to the OpenID movement, we are proud to remind you that your free account on Vox, or your existing TypePad or TypeKey accounts count as an OpenID identity. OpenID plugins for Movable Type are also available.
For more information on what OpenID is, where to use it and how to get one, see OpenID.net.
