The Six Apart services team helped the curators of cool (aka the Dark Planneurs) to revamp their TypePad blog with a much more professionnal look & feel.
On "L'Observatoire du Monde Contemporain" (the Contemporay World observatory) you will find the last trends in term of luxury, advertising, art and much more, including a Web TV with exclusive contents (interviews with Castelbajac or Kapferer).

The TypePad team is pleased to introduce TypePad Connect, its latest project designed to enrich the experience of all bloggers (those on TypePad, Movable Type, WordPress, Tumblr and Blogger get step-by-step directions; otherwise all that's necessary is a snippet of Javascript for any web page you please).

Page views equals Christmas presents on Monbeausapin.org

Do a good deed this Christmas - read a comic strip! This year, Pénélope Bagieu of the popular TypePad blog, Ma vie est toute à fait fascinante, is exchanging her gift for drawing comics into Christmas presents for kids all over France.

From 17 November until Christmas, Orange will make a monetary donation to the long-standing "Arbre de Noël" initiative of the French Red Cross, for every visitor to Mon Beau Sapin. Through the "Arbre de Noël" project, hundreds of children in France get a Christmas present every year - from Santa himself!

Mon Beau Sapin will feature the Christmas-themed artwork of Pénélope and a bevy of undisclosed French cartoonists; the only way to see the full roster of participants is to check the blog regularly.

On her latest project, Pénélope says:

"I was frustrated that there are so many children out there who won't be getting a present this Christmas. That got me thinking if there was something I could do personally, and I immediately thought of creating a comic strip blog. Something where people don't even realize they're making a difference - all they're doing is enjoying a little free comic strip. No hard work, just a bit of fun. So I called the Red Cross and got in touch with some other comic artists to get involved."

At TypePad, we've been working on a lot of applications that work across platforms like TypePad AntiSpam, Blog It for Facebook and Blog It for iPhone. Now we're introducing Blog Link, an free application that - you guessed it - links your blog to the popular professional networking site, LinkedIn.

Blog Link is a free, easy-to-use application that displays a feed of your latest blog posts on your profile, so you can share your thoughts across your LinkedIn network. Of course, the application works in both directions; that is, you can keep track of the latest blog posts published by your contacts under the "Your Network" tab. Blog Link automatically finds contacts' blogs as listed under "Websites" in their profiles. As more of your contacts add the Blog Link application, your own latest posts show up in more places. Psychologies' look at luxe

French monthly Psychologies has been working with our Services team to launch their TypePad-powered site dedicated to all things luxe. Le Mag Luxe is a good example of TypePad's flexibility; with TypePad's endlessly customizable nature and the use of advanced templates, there is no limit to what can be done in terms of design.

Six Apart Europe sponsors the BOBs

Deutsche Welle's International Weblog Awards, the BOBs, will kick off for the fifth consecutive year on 31 August (which is also, not coincidentally, International Blog Day). The biggest global award event for blogs, podcasts and vlogs, this year's edition of the BOBs will judge contestants in 16 categories and 11 languages.

Last year, some 100,000 Internet users nominated over 7,000 of their favorite blogs for inclusion in the BOBs. Needless to say, we get quite excited to see all the TypePad and Movable Type blogs among the chosen ones, but we also recognize that it's a great initiative for blogging in general. What better way to find great, undiscovered blogs? (With the obvious exceptions of Blogs.com and the TypePad France Blog Portal, naturally.)

Nominations for blogs, podcasts and vlogs in Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Indonesian, Persian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish are accepted until 30 September on the BOBs site.
