Session 5: Introduction to Movable Type Motion & MT Connect
- Motion:
Motion is a new social application for Movable Type that enables the easy creation of communities that integrate content both from Movable Type but also from elsewhere on the web, and also allow the Movable Type content to be transmitted outwards meaning that Motion is a two-way social application, not just a simple aggregator. Basically it gives the opportunity to have a place on your site where any registered user can do small, structured blog posts (a short text, an image, a video embed, a link...) that appear on a main page, along with any actions discovered on the other services that your users may have listed in their profiles. - MT Connect:
This is a new product based on Movable Type that allows you to add comments, moderation, ratings, profiles, voting, spam-filtering... to existing websites (powered by other CMS) by simply including a line of script code. This is mainly targeted at bringing social features to content management systems (legacy or otherwise) that currently don't provide such capabilities.
