Deutsche Welle's International Weblog Awards, the BOBs, will kick off for the fifth consecutive year on 31 August (which is also, not coincidentally, International Blog Day). The biggest global award event for blogs, podcasts and vlogs, this year's edition of the BOBs will judge contestants in 16 categories and 11 languages. Last year, some 100,000 Internet users nominated over 7,000 of their favorite blogs for inclusion in the BOBs.
